The Compensation Program by the Michigan Crime Victim Services Commission (CVSC) offers support for high school students and their families affected by the Nov. 30 crime against our school community. It covers expenses like medical bills and counseling. Administered by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, you can apply directly through MDHHS or by calling the Crime Victim Compensation Office at 517-241-7373. While the All For Oxford Resiliency Center and Common Ground no longer process applications, they can still guide you through the application process. Must be filed by 2026. The Board of Commissioners (BOC) in Oakland County has joined hands with the Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) to introduce the Oxford School Mental Health Funding Assistance Program, aimed at aiding those affected by the Oxford tragedy.
With a commitment of $500,000, the BOC aims to offer support to students, families, school administrators, and staff of Oxford schools. They can receive up to $2,000 per household to assist with insurance co-payments or deductibles linked to mental health care. click here for the link. Thaar Care: The Thaar Care Foundation is dedicated to providing necessary funding for mental health counseling to individuals that may not otherwise receive help due to financial circumstances.
